The Adaptive Music Partnership, a program of Community Music School of Springfield, is offering two series of workshops
focusing on music instruction for diverse learners. Both series will address an array of special needs commonly found
among music students, as well as strategies and techniques for successfully working with all students.
Series 1 is intended for music instructors who work in group settings, such as a school classroom teacher, ensemble
directors, and studio teachers who teach group classes.
Series 2 is intended for music instructors who work in 1-on-1
settings, such as instrumental and vocal teachers.
Eligible for 10 hour unit of study that can be applied to state-awarded professional development points
CMSS faculty and SPS teachers: free
All other participants: $20 a day, or $90 for all 5 days*

October 3rd, 2018: “English Language Learners and Special Needs in the Music Classroom”
November 7th, 2018: “Planning for Diverse Needs”
December 5th, 2018: “Communication Techniques”
January 2nd, 2019 (January 9th, Snow Day): “Behavior Techniques”
February 6th, 2019 (February 13th, Snow Day): “Music Therapy 101”
