CMSS’ 2018-19 Classical Chamber Concert Series consists of six concerts from September 2018 through May 2019 – three spotlight concerts and three faculty features. Our faculty feature concerts will highlight CMSS’ distinguished faculty who have groups that tour locally and nationally. Tickets for each concert are $20 for general admission and $10 for students and faculty. Our performance and event space, Robyn Newhouse Hall, features a 9-foot concert grand piano and is highlighted by a spectacular 1933 mural of the American urban landscape by Carroll Bill. Robyn Newhouse Hall is the ideal location for a chamber music series—the grand, art-deco bank lobby has been refurbished into an intimate concert hall with 160 seats and ideal acoustics. The hall’s proximity to Symphony Hall and the Museums Quadrangle place it in the center of downtown and at the heart of Springfield’s cultural district, accessible by public transportation.
Past performers include Peter Serkin, The Parkington Piano Trio, the Apple Hill String Quartet and Paradise Winds.
